Douglas Glenn Royse, a disabled Army Veteran, passed away on July 7, 2025, at his home in Five Points, Tennessee after a long illness. He was born on September 3, 1960, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Douglas was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Earl Royse and Frances Royse Nix, his maternal grandparents Orion O. Young and Ola Birdyshaw Young, his father James Earl Royse, and two brothers James O. Royse and Timothy A. Royse.
He is survived by his mother Thalia E. Young of Lawrenceburg, a daughter Angela Royse, three grandchildren of Winder, Georgia, and one sister Tamara E. Young (Tony) of Cummings, Georgia. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Second Creek Cemetery, with Danny Pettus officiating. Burial will follow in Second Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Loretto Memorial Chapel. Douglas will be remembered for his service to his country and his love for his family.
