Elizabeth Jane Comer Bishop, known to her loved ones as Betsy, passed away peacefully at her home in Thompson’s Station, TN on October 7th, 2025. Born on January 7th, 1953, she was 72 years old.
Betsy was a devoted wife to her husband Tony for 54 years and a loving mother to her sons Michael and David. She was an exemplary daughter, providing selfless care to her parents during their final days. Betsy also took great joy in caring for and celebrating her five grandchildren over the past 30 years. She was a long-time native of Lawrenceburg, TN and had deep connections and service to the city. Her kindness and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Betsy was a dedicated member of Thompson’s Station United Methodist Church and cherished their congregation dearly. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family and community.
Betsy is survived by her husband Tony, sons Michael (Jenn) and David (LiHong), five grandchildren, great-granddaughter, brother David Comer, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children in her honor.
Betsy’s legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
