Gordon R. Smith, 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his residence. He was a retired communication tech from AT&T and a member of The House of Prayer. Gordon was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country honorably. He had a love for watching westerns, The Three Stooges, and planting trees.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Elva Reed Smith; his first wife, Sharon Smith; his second wife, Carol Smith; five brothers, George Edward Smith, Basil Charles Smith, Carlton Cecil Smith, Ramon Lester Smith, and Donald Dean Smith; one sister, Karen Grace Smith; and one grandson, Tanner Michael.
He is survived by one daughter, Angie Long (Scotty) of Lawrenceburg, TN; three sons, Kenny Smith (Shelia) and Micah Smith both of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Kyle Smith (Rachel) of Bethel Springs, TN; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Annette Smith and Doris Ann Smith; and one brother, Edward Curtis Smith.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Gordon’s memory.
