Herman Thompson Jr. passed away on March 12th, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 5th, 1938 in Minor Hill, TN and was 86 years old.
Herman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He retired in 1993 after working 37 years at Monsanto in Decatur, AL. Herman found joy in fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was a cherished member and elder of Cartwright Church of Christ. Above all, Herman treasured spending time with his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ona Belle Gatlin Thompson, and brothers Vernon and Edward Thompson.
Herman is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Thompson of Minor Hill, TN; daughter, Anita (Glen) King of Minor Hill, TN; son, Donny Thompson of St. Joe, Tennessee; 3 granddaughters, Kea, Jessica, and Meagan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements for Herman Thompson, Jr.
