Johnny Wayne Ratliff, age 75, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at VA Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Lorik Tools, and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, choir member, and a Sunday school teacher for years. Mr. Ratliff served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and also the Tennessee National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Vernease Shrader Ratliff; one daughter, Mitzi Ratliff Littrell; and two sisters, Glenda Longshore and Anita Cozart.
He is survived by his wife, Juvy Jalalon Ratliff of Lawrenceburg, TN; three children, John M. Ratliff III (Bridget) of the Bodenham Community, Wendy Ratliff of Columbia, TN, and Timothy Wayne Ratliff (Michelle) of Lawrenceburg, TN; five step-children, Jed, Aubrey, Jet, Angel. and Jalen; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Mars Hill Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 28, 2024, with Mickey Brackin and Jeff Overton officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN, with full military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to the Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
