Larry Eugene Noble, 83, of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in assisted living after a long and humble life marked by faith, family, and a spirited love for girls basketball. Born July 21, 1941, in Vienna, Illinois, Larry was the son of Rev. Lloyd Noble and Frances Owen Noble, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his beloved sister, Doris, and two brothers, Terry and Steve Noble.
Larry’s life was characterized by his deep faith and dedication to serving others. He taught Sunday School for many years at the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville, Tennessee, where his gentle spirit and deep faith made a lasting impact on generations of young believers. His love for girls basketball in Shelbyville was unwavering, and he cheered from the stands with the enthusiasm of a devoted coach and the loyalty of a lifelong fan.
He worked at Heil Quaker in southern Tennessee, where he was known for his steady work ethic and dry wit. Larry briefly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged due to medical reasons, reflecting his willingness to serve and contribute in every chapter of his life.
Larry is survived by three brothers: Phillip, Walter, and Daniel, as well as several nieces and nephews who remember him fondly for his humor, stories, and unwavering support.
A memorial service will be held at Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 24, 2025, with Troy Green officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you shoot a free throw in his honor—or better yet, cheer on a girls’ basketball game in your town.
Rest easy, Larry. You kept the faith, stayed true to yourself, and never missed a chance to root for the home team.
