Nancy Glidewell, a beloved member of the Liberty United Methodist Church of Prospect, passed away on May 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Glidewell, a World War II US Army Air Corps Pilot and Prisoner of War. Nancy was known for her dedication to blood donation due to her rare blood type, often stating, “the babies need my blood.” She was also a talented woodcrafter, creating dolls, clowns, and animals, which were featured in newspapers and craft shows. Nancy’s generosity extended to giving away her profits or characters. She was an animal lover, and her affection was reciprocated by the animals.
Nancy is survived by her son George and wife Sandra Glidewell of Shepherdsville, KY, and daughter Dottie Walker of Jackson, TN. She had close friends, including Geneva Wilburn, Carol Ferguson, Betty Pope, and her church families from Liberty United Methodist Church and House on The Rock, Pulaski.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Liberty United Methodist Church, followed by burial at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, AL. Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements for Nancy Glidewell.
