Floy Dean Baugher, 81, of Prospect, passed away on April 8, 2025, at her residence. Floy was born on June 28, 1943, in Limestone Co., AL, to Floyd Houston and Georgie Lou Chapman Johnson. She was a former employee of GM and a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Floy cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and found solace in gardening, tending to her flowers, and working with her cattle. She lived by the motto “rope, ride, hammer, and paint,” with painting being her favorite hobby. Floy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Larry Gilbert Baugher, and her sisters Marcelle Williams, Helen Abernathy, and Sharon Stephenson, as well as her brother Houston Johnson. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Floy is survived by her son Christopher Baugher (Willa) of Prospect, sisters Rachel Webb of Frankewing and Brenda Johnson of Athens, grandchildren Grayson (Brackin), Shane, Aiden, great-grandchildren Jaxxon and Everley, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
