Reeder Donald Behel, 80, of Greenhill, AL, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Don was known for his warm hugs and sincere “I Love You”, and his genuine desire to help others find their way to Heaven. He was a devoted Christian, serving as a Deacon and Elder at the Church of Christ at Lone Cedar for 46 years. Don’s impact extended beyond his church community, as he served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and had a successful career in real estate and auctioneering.
Don is survived by his loving wife Glenda Gooch Behel, his children Kevin Behel (Julia) and Karla Gray (Barry), and his grandchildren Colby Behel, Caden Behel (Mariah), Benton Gray (Brooke), and Sadee Gray (A.J.). He also leaves behind daughters he loved as his own, Lisa Grigsby and Dana Hamlin, his siblings Ronnie Behel (Linda) and Patty Nagle (Roy), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Lone Cedar Church of Christ, with a Celebration of Life service on Friday, January 30, 2026. Don’s impact on his community and his unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew him.
