William Richard Ellett, 82, of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away on January 11th, 2025 at Southern Tennessee Regional Pulaski. Born on August 20th, 1942 in Durham, North Carolina, William spent his childhood in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Michigan, and North Carolina. He served in the Navy for over 22 years, joining the Navy Reserves in 1960 and going into active duty in 1961. On October 1, 1961, he married the love of his life and was married for 63 years.
William is survived by his wife, Virginia Ellett, his son William Michael Ellett, daughter Cheryl Lynn Slycord, grandchildren William Jr., Stephanie, Matthew, Jonathan, and Caitlin, as well as great-grandchildren Stacey and Emma, with another great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Robin Sewell.
Visitation will be held on January 25th, 2025 at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory, followed by a memorial service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to First United Methodist Church-Pulaski Youth and Children Ministry.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Aurthur Curtis and Marion Livingston Ellett, his brother Chris Ellett, and his daughter Barbara Ellett. Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for William Richard Ellett. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
