Irene Smith, age 93, of Ethridge, TN passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from a garment factory, and a founding member of Voice of Victory Temple. Mrs. Smith loved her family, quilting, flowers, and working in her gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Lida Hooper Robbins; her husband, Leslie Smith; three brothers, Floyd Robbins, Joe Robbins, and Chester Robbins; and two sisters, Pauline Henderson and Neoma Sutton.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Smith (Yvonne) of Williamsport, TN, Joel Smith (Lynn) of Cedar Park, TX, and James Smith (Carol) of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sisters, Violet Shultz of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Martha Ann Phillips of Soddy-Daisy, TN; three brothers, C. M. Robbins of Leoma, TN, Lester Robbins of Leoma, TN, and V. E. Robbins of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday, April 01, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Monday, April 01, 2024, with Samuel Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Voice of Victory Temple.
