Richard Thrasher, 71, of Rogersville, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at UAB Medical Center. He was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School and University of Alabama. He retired from Alagasco and was an avid Alabama fan.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23rd from 11 -1 at Rogersville Funeral Home with funeral service following in the chapel with Tommy Calhoun officiating and Mike and Phil Isom speaking. Burial will be Wednesday, January 24th at 1:00 in Arab City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Drake Thrasher, Nathan Thrasher, Cole Thrasher, Bryson Lovell, Tim Putman, Will McNutt, Thomas Tucker, Jonathan Day and honorary, Doug Isom.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ozell and Jewell Thrasher, brother, Charles Thrasher and sisters, Judy Thrasher, and Susan Waddell. He is survived by is wife, Dawn Thrasher; children, T.J. (Jodi) Thrasher, Roxy (Jonathan) Day, Stephanie (Caleb) Thomas, Shellie (Todd) Lovell and Ryan (Savannah) Siniard; grandchildren, Drake, Nathan, Cole, Eleanor, Henry, Ruby, Anna, Bella, Blair, Bryson and Gunnar; great grandson, Winston; sisters, Anita (Morris) McKee and Angela (Tommy) Calhoun; special dog, Maria; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Graehme McFarland, Dr. Lobo, Dr. Vachhani, UAB Medical Center MICU, and to Shoals Home Health especially, Kay and Justin for all their loving care during this difficult time.
