Jarry Don Wise, 77, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, 17, 2026. Born on June 8, 1948, in Athens, Alabama to Van and Adene Wise, he was affectionately known as “Bear” by his family and friends.
Bear dedicated many years of his life as a truck driver for Conagra before retiring. He was known for his warm spirit and unwavering presence, and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Kay Wise, and his son, Jerry Allen Wise. Bear is survived by his brothers Johnny Wise (Brenda) and Jeff Wise; his son, Kenny Wise; and his daughter Brandy Hicks (Tom). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Shellie Jackson (Justin), Kellie Tucker (Michael), Josh Wise (Ashley), and Heather Wise, along with many great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Bear will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will be treasured forever. The arrangements are being handled by Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.
