Margaret Ann Smith, 85, of Lexington, passed away on June 18, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Margaret was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Lexington and had a fulfilling career in the banking business. She also served as the longtime office manager for the Lauderdale County Waste Management Department. Margaret is survived by her son Nathan Smith (Teresa), daughter Amy Crunk, brother James O. Duke (Shelby), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Smith, son Russell Smith, daughter Penny Smith Henkel, sister Katherine Duke, sons-in-law Mike Crunk and Anthony “Bud” Henkel, father Morris Duke, and mother Addie Lee Duncan Duke.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at First Baptist Church of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Lexington’s Friday Meal Program.
