Dennis Wayland Allen, 79, of Greenhill, Alabama, passed away on February 21, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center after battling pneumonia. He was born on April 18, 1945, in Greenhill, Alabama, and was married to Sherry (Green) Allen for 57 years. Dennis was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw, friend, and devout Christian. He was also a loyal employee, working for 56 years at local Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealerships. Dennis was a faithful member of Shiloh Church of Christ, serving as a Deacon for 50 years.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sherry Allen, daughters Heather Phillips (Stephen) and Heidi Hendrix (Dr. Quentin), brothers Travis Allen (Jo Anna) and Bobby Allen (Maureen), sisters-in-law Faye Allen, Sharon Allen, Joyce Green, and Glenda Phillips (Ray), grandchildren Faith Keeton (Daniel) and Matthew Phillips, great-grandchild Ryker Keeton, and his favorite grand-dog, Roscoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. Allen and Ruby Richardson Allen, in-laws Oscar Howard Green and Eula Pearl Green, and brothers Morris Allen and Terry Dale Allen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Greenhill Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place in the Shiloh Church of Christ cemetery.
Pallbearers include Cam Allen, Mark Allen, Monty Allen, Daniel Keeton, Landon McCain, Matthew Phillips, Alan Storie, and Jesse Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons at Shiloh Church of Christ.
